Job Description

An Insight Global Enterprise client is looking for a talented Technical Product Owner to join their team. The primary responsibility will be to own the functionality and the quality of the product. This person should be able to understand what goes behind the scenes for building a complex resilient scalable enterprise products and should contribute through providing roadmap of functional abilities along with giving technical edge to the product. This individual will hold the title “Product owner” with the expectation to derive features from requests, collaborate with product management and development teams to have the features and abilities rolled out to customers.

Write user stories using behavior driven development (BDD) and acceptance test driven development (ATDD)
Basic fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team
Understand and clarify customer requirements for or on behalf of the line of business
Understand problems enough to determine cause and provide appropriate solutions
Work with business team to ensure product backlog is visible and prioritize the list to generate higher business value
Own the requirements and needs for product documentation, collaborating with technical writers. Study competitive offerings in the market and anticipate customer needs.
Define, prioritize, and clarify user stories; working with other Product Managers and Product Owners to understand use cases, features, business & technical domain rules and overall product goals
Build and groom product backlog(s). Create and groom short, medium and long-term product roadmaps and get internal agreement with key stakeholders and provide visibility across the enterprise, including at the executive level
Validate requirements and analysis models via techniques such as reviews, walkthroughs, and play acting.
Assist with writing Acceptance Criteria and will be a liaison between project stakeholders and Quality Assurance personnel
Understand other processes and methodologies and speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team
Collaborate with the Scrum Master to run successful Release Planning and Sprint Planning sessions, as well as Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives
Synthesizes complex sets of information to provide clarity and understanding in brand new projects (greenfield)
Maintain a working knowledge of Client's applications and system integration and is able to understand changes in order to anticipate cross-system or cross-process impacts
Collaborate with key stakeholders across internal and external technical teams and Product Management to define, develop, shape and refine requirements of a complex Core Platform offering critical to the company's on-going and future business goals

Required Skills & Experience

3-4+ years of professional experience as a product owner
5+ years of software development/agile/scrum exposure
Experience with Retail or Ecommerce products
Direct hands on experience with writing user stories, grooming product backlogs and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast paced, ever changing environment
Experience authoring Technical User Stories / Use Cases and excellent writing skills
Experience with following tools
JIRA or similar tools for creating features and user stories
Postman to explore APIs – Should be able to execute transactions and understand responses (NICE TO HAVE)
Understanding of functioning and design of APIs
Should understand the value of technical backlog and able to derive value for technical features
Ability to understand, communicate and engage effectively with multiple stakeholders and interactions
Adaptable to the needs and preferences of the team and stakeholders
Basic fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
Strong knowledge of agile development practices (especially Scrum and / or Kanban), methodologies and tools
