Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Software/Backend Engineer to join our large insurance client. The Engineer is responsible for owning the end-to-end development of backend systems, leveraging deep expertise in the .NET platform to design, architect, and implement scalable, high-performance solutions. On a day-to-day basis, they translate high-level requirements into well-structured, production-ready systems, taking ownership of assigned modules and features from design through delivery. They build and optimize asynchronous, distributed systems, solve complex technical challenges, and ensure solutions are designed to scale effectively. This engineer works hands-on with technologies such as Docker and has working knowledge of MongoDB for data persistence. Operating heavily within the Azure ecosystem, they utilize services such as API Management, Service Principals for secure application authentication, Managed Identities to streamline access control, and Azure Key Vault to manage secrets and configurations securely. While they support CI/CD processes, the primary focus is on engineering robust, maintainable systems and driving projects forward independently, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of system complexity across the full development lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience
• 7+ years of professional experience as a backend software engineer
• Strong hands‑on experience with C# and .NET (8+) in enterprise environments
• 5+ years of experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server, and at least 2 years of experience using NoSQL/document databases (preferably MongoDB)
• Experience building and supporting applications in Microsoft Azure (app configuration, function apps, APIM, service bus, event grid, key vault, managed identity/Entra ID, and cosmos db) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Thorough understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and design/architectural patterns for developing scalable and maintainable software
• Ability to support both new feature development and production issues
Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently in a distributed team, and great communication skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Terraform experience
-experience in the insurance/logistics domain
