Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to support a foundational and mission‑critical product. Product ensures network reliability by monitoring modem activity, processing continuous livestream device data, and helping identify service quality issues down to the individual device, street, or neighborhood level.
This is a highly technical, hands‑on engineering role focused on maintenance, enhancements, tech‑debt reduction, and debugging within a mature product ecosystem. The team operates with a lightweight agile process including daily stand-ups and standard scrum ceremonies.

Day-to-Day & Key Responsibilities

Support and enhance product, a core reliability platform that processes real-time connectivity data across the customer network.
Execute ongoing maintenance, debugging, tech-debt reduction, and a backlog of small enhancements and required service upgrades.
Develop and maintain Python‑based data processing pipelines that handle continuous streaming data from millions of devices.
Work extensively with Kafka queues and streaming patterns to support event-driven processing.
Build and support serverless components using AWS Lambda and deploy/maintain workloads in Kubernetes environments.
Interpret device pings and connectivity signals to determine service quality across locations from single homes to entire neighborhoods.
Perform updates in non‑production environments and support release progression through the team's agile workflow.
Collaborate with a distributed team across the U.S. and Latin America within a lightweight agile structure.
Participate in daily 9 AM EST stand-ups and work standard EST business hours.


Compensation:
$45/hr to $55/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
