Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team, specializing in the design, implementation, and management of high-capacity telecommunications circuits, with a focus on Core Back Bone (CBB) infrastructure.



Key Responsibilities

1. Design and implement high-capacity network circuits (e.g., 100G CBB) across diverse geographical locations.

2. Create and maintain detailed network diagrams using tools such as PowerPoint and Visio.

3. Utilize Network Inventory and Service Engineering (NISE) web GUI for equipment loading and configuration.

4. Provision various network elements (e.g., EL100G, LS100G, OC192) using NISE x-GUI.

5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate circuit implementations.

6. Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.

7. Troubleshoot complex network issues during circuit turn-up and ongoing operations.

8. Document technical processes and maintain accurate records of network configurations.

9. Lead conference calls for circuit turn-ups and provide technical guidance to team members.

10. Stay updated on telecommunications technologies and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

* 5+ years Extensive experience in telecommunications network engineering/project management, particularly with high-capacity circuits.

* Knowledge of routing protocols and Layer 1 technologies

* Proficiency PowerPoint, Visio for network diagramming

* Proficiency in Excel for spreadsheet application purposes

* Knowledge of NISE (X-GUI or Web or TIRKs) or similar network inventory and provisioning systems.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Experience with Nortel/Ciena NT6500 platforms, OTN Technologies

* Experience with undersea cable systems and terrestrial fiber networks.

* Specific network technology experience with DWDM, OTN, SONET/SDH and/or 10 Gigs
