Job Description

The software engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of software for the Advanced Store Product. They will interact daily with other team members to ensure that a quality product is delivered in a timely manner. They are expected to be able to own the solution and solve complex software
problems/needs from design to delivery.

Designs, modifies, implements, and documents software application changes.
Tests and supports applications internally and externally.
Participates in analysis, design, development, testing (manual, automated, regression, etc.), and review processes.
Provides estimations of work based on requirements.
Writes product specifications, designs, and technical manuals.
Evaluates third-party products and specifications.
Maintains responsibility of assigned tasks by using experience/knowledge of environment to make design/development decisions.
Educates others (technical and non-technical) on areas of expertise.
Provides development level support for assigned products and projects throughout the development lifecycle.
Provides support to existing customer base.
Works well within an Agile team.
Other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in a related area (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Services, Management Information Services) or equivalent industry experience.
6+ years of software development experience with C#, .Net
C#, .NET
4+ years Windows Client Application development
3+ years of Microsoft Visual Studio experience.
SQL Server Knowledge; Strong SQL query skills.
Strong understanding of Database management systems.
Experienced w/ Software Engineering best practices (Design Patterns, Coding Style, etc.)
Able to troubleshoot complex systems including hardware and software systems.
Extensible Markup Language (XML).

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Excellent understanding of basic software design principles.
Design and implementation of objects.
Knowledge of REST based web services.
Business acumen (accounting, tax reporting, price management, etc.)
Knowledge of Agile methodologies
Experience with some of the following.
§ Github
§ Nexus Repository
§ Artifactory
§ NuGet package management
§ SpecFlow
Experience with designing and implementing software installation / upgrade processes for user sites (e.g., Windows Installer, Wise Installation Systems) a plus.
Retail experience a plus, especially in specialty retail.
