Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Linux Administrator to design, deploy, secure, and maintain Linux server environments, with a focus on RHEL and Ubuntu distributions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in automation, compliance, and system hardening, along with the ability to mentor junior team members and collaborate across IT, cybersecurity, and software development teams.

• Design, deploy, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL and Ubuntu).
• Implement and manage security controls, including SELinux, FIPS mode, firewalls, and access policies.
• Architect automation tools for Compliance-As-Code using Ansible, Gitlab, Artifactory, Tenable Nessus, Axonius, Crowdstrike, and more.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure-As-Code deployment platforms, images, and methodologies for both virtual machines and bare metal.
• Harden Linux systems to meet STIG, NIST 800-171, and CCMC Level 2 compliance standards.
• Document system configurations, specifications, and procedures; manage change control processes for systematic updates.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior system administrators.
• Perform system administration tasks, including installation, updates, and configuration management.
• Ensure timely patching and updates in line with security best practices.
• Develop, test, and maintain backup and recovery solutions for Linux systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex operating system issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and secure high-availability environments.
• Continuously improve operational processes as technologies evolve.

Required Skills & Experience

** Bachelors degree required**

• Proven experience as a Linux architect, designing automation and building processes from the ground up.
• Extensive experience supporting RHEL and Ubuntu systems with secure protocols (FIPS, SELinux, fapolicyd).
• Experience designing Compliance-As-Code configurations using Ansible AAP/Tower and Gitlab.
