Job Description

We are seeking a contract User Experience Designer to play a pivotal role aimed at revolutionizing the supply chain experience. This position is ideal for a dynamic, emotionally intelligent professional who embodies a startup mentality--nimble, eager to learn and driven to succeed, with a deep-rooted passion for enterprise and technological innovation. The candidate could bring a specialized focus in supply chain management or enterprise systems thinking, coupled with extensive experience in product design, design systems, and a keen interest in service design. This role demands a profound understanding of product strategy and the ability to evolve products over time. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, eager to tackle challenges head-on and drive groundbreaking design solutions and ideas in our supply chain operations.

* Design and iterate on product solutions for complex supply chain challenges, focusing on creating intuitive, user-centered experiences.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and supply chain experts to identify design opportunities and implement effective solutions.

* Develop and maintain design systems, ensuring consistency and efficiency in our product designs.

* Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and inform design decisions. When user's aren't available, you're willing to roll up your sleeves to find creative work arounds that might suffice.

* You're comfortable presenting design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders, gathering feedback and making informed adjustments.

* Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in supply chain technology and user experience design, applying this knowledge to drive innovation.

* You're comfortable championing the start-up mentality of moving swiftly and intentionally to drive product forward.

Required Skills & Experience

* Specific experience or strong interest in the supply chain or related enterprise fields.

* Excellent understanding of product strategy and a proven track record of evolving products over time.

* Strong Portfolio: Demonstrable experience in UX/UI design and thought leadership, showcasing a variety of projects that reflect a deep understanding of user-centered design principles. The portfolio should include examples of wireframes, user flows or journey maps, and highly polished design interfaces.

* Proficiency in Design Tools: Expertise in using industry-standard design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other prototyping tools.

* User Research Skills: Ability to conduct and apply user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to inform and validate design decisions. Experience with A/B testing is a plus.

* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately. Ability to communicate design rationale and negotiate solutions that serve user needs while aligning with business goals.

* Agile and Lean Methodologies: Familiarity with agile and lean startup methodologies, comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative design process, and able to adapt quickly to change.

* Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a knack for identifying user pain points and creatively solving complex design challenges.

* Understanding of Front-End Development: Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is preferred. Understanding how designs are implemented to guide feasible and practical solutions.

* Empathy and Curiosity: A deep empathy for user needs, combined with a curiosity to explore how technology can solve problems in innovative ways.

* Startup Mentality: Willingness to wear multiple hats, tackle challenges possibly beyond the traditional role of a UX designer, and contribute to a culture of innovation and experimentation.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Education and Experience: A degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is ideal. However, relevant experience and a track record of successful projects can substitute for formal education.
