Job Description

An Insight Global retail customer is looking for a Product Owner to join their product team within their supply chain team in the IT organization. The Product Owner will work alongside the Product Manager and work with the development team that supports many supply chain systems, in house applications, and more. This role will be responsible for writing user stories, meeting with business stakeholders, identifying dependencies across multiple matrixed teams, creating refinements, pointing with the team, and even some UI/UX work if possible. The Product Owner will need to be able to work on multiple projects in different stages at one time and be very organized. The Product Owner will participate in the daily scrum meetings as well and utilize JIRA for story creation and tracking.



Essential Functions

* Partners with Business Stakeholders regularly to align on IT Product vision and needs

* Creates, maintains and prioritizes team backlog by holding weekly Backlog Refinement sessions with Business Stakeholders and Scrum Team

* Can identify and pursue dependencies between intra-team stories and cross functional or matrixed teams

* Attends Sprint Ceremonies and is readily accessible for Scrum Team

* Ensure story acceptance criteria is met by all scrum team members by approving all stories upon completion of development

* Ability to communicate clearly and present complex information to users by translating technical information for non-technical stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

* 2-5+ years of product ownership/management or an equivalent

* Preferably within an IT Retail Corporate organization or working within IT development teams

* Proficiency with Agile methodologies and participation in daily scrum and backlog refinement meetings

* Ability to write user stories

* Experience facilitating Story Mapping sessions and story output

* Experience determining story dependencies and pre-requisites between and across multiple teams

* Experience working across multiple products or teams

o Ability to ensure stories are appropriately linked and create dashboards for better holistic views across teams

* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

o Experience interacting with high level business stake holders

* Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced/matrixed environment

* Experience utilizing JIRA

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Background in UI/UX role to create a better user experience

* Previous experience creating mockups, wireframes, prototypes

* Understand best practices within UI/UX

* Knowledge of UI/UX tools: Adobe Creative Cloud/Sketch/InVision

* Certifications

* Experience within the supply chain/retail industry

* Experience supporting middleware software
