Job Description

The Manager, Information Technology is responsible for providing leadership to an IT team.
This role is a people leader responsible for selecting, developing, and motivating a team of IT
professionals. This position is also responsible for setting direction for the team and ensuring that
the team's work is aligned with IT strategy.
As the Manager of IT Transportation, you will lead a dedicated team of technical experts
responsible for all technology supporting HD Supply logistics operations.
You will act as the key technical partner to the Product and EPMO organizations, ensuring that
your team delivers robust, scalable, and well-architected solutions that meet the evolving needs
of our complex transportation network. You will also be the primary technical owner for the
successful implementation and continuous improvement of our strategic SAP Transportation
Management (TM) platform.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
• 20% - Strategy & Planning:
o Works with business partners, IT leaders, and the Senior Manager to ensure
team's work is aligned with the overall IT and business strategy.
o Sets direction for the Transportation on technical design, project execution, and
operational support.
o Contributes to the development of the technology roadmap for all logistics and
final mile systems.
• 40% - Delivery & Execution:
o Leads the team in the design, development, and implementation of technology
solutions, with a primary focus on the SAP TM implementation.
o Manages the technical delivery for all projects within the transportation portfolio,
ensuring on-time and on-budget execution in partnership with the EPMO.
o Provides technical guidance and oversight to ensure solutions are well-designed
and adhere to enterprise architecture standards.
o Manages the resolution of complex technical issues and acts as an escalation point
for your team.
• 40% - People Leadership:
o Selects, develops, and motivates a team of IT professionals, including application
engineers and analysts.
o Manages team performance, conducts performance reviews, and creates
development plans to foster technical and professional growth.
o Provides direction and mentorship to the team, removing roadblocks and creating
an environment of collaboration and high performance.
Nature and Scope
• Reports to the Senior Manager, IT Supply Chain Solutions Delivery.
• This position has direct reports.

Salary: $130,000-$150,000 depending on skills and experience

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience in Information Technology with a significant focus on Supply
Chain Logistics and Transportation systems.
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership or mentorship capacity (e.g., as a team lead,
project lead, or formal manager).
• Deep functional and technical understanding of SAP Transportation Management
(TM) is highly preferred. Experience with SAP WM/EWM or other logistics execution
systems is also beneficial.
• Knowledge of a Route planning solution such as Descartes Route Planner and its mobile
solutions is a plus.
• Proven experience delivering complex IT projects in partnership with business, Product
and PMO (Project Management Office) stakeholders.
• A "player-coach" mindset with the ability to provide strong technical direction while also
focusing on developing the skills and careers of your team members.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Master's Degree in a related field is a plus.
