Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:



* Ensuring migration of Analytics users from on-prem data centers to Microsoft Azure are successful

Ensuring maturation of Analytics development processes over time through flexibility and automation

* Consulting and providing expertise on technical solution options, and contributing to decision-making discussions in areas such as serverless computing, containerized workloads, and big data

* Remaining up-to-date on internal and industry-wide best practices related to those solutions

* Evangelizing best practices for cloud architecture and the key pillars of cloud application operations

* Developing and ensuring delivery of resilient infrastructure designs using Infrastructure-as-Code

* Performing knowledge transfer for SRE, Application and Support team resources when needed

* Diagnosing and resolving potentially complex infrastructure, integration, and application issues

* Improving standardization and automation within maturing processes to enhance efficiency

* Performance testing and tuning to ensure production workloads are supported

* Monitoring and supporting critical business applications to ensure SLAs are met

* Understanding and implementing defensive, detective and corrective controls

* Assisting in the development and/or implementation of comprehensive information security procedures and practices to reduce attack surfaces and comply with best practices

* Augmenting project and systems documentation for technical and non-technical audiences







Summary:



A client of Insight Global is looking for a Consulting Site Reliability Engineer with proven industry success to provide leadership for several cloud migration project initiatives. This position and its contributions are highly visible across all internal stakeholder groups and the role works closely with various business verticals and their project teams, including Analytics users, IT Operations and Customer Operations teams. The successful candidate will help migrate client's Analytics environments from on-premises data centers to Microsoft Azure. Analytics users will be heavily utilizing Azure Machine Learning, Databricks, and Azure Data factory. The migration also involves a transition to DevOps practices, agile support and process automation. This role requires the ability to understand business needs and technical solution options, provide evidence-backed design input, communicate effectively with audiences of varying technical depth, influence decision-making, implement solutions consistent with best practices, and verify and effectively maintain those solutions, whilst operating within a fast-paced environment driving multiple initiatives in parallel. Required Skills & Experience

* 10+ years professional experience, including demonstrable success in project leadership roles

* 5+ years professional experience in DevOps or SRE roles on a major cloud platform

* BSc+ in Engineering/Computer Science/IT, advanced degree preferred

* Industry certification for Cloud Developers/Architects (Prefer Azure; Related: AWS, GCP)

* Performance analysis and tuning

* Hashicorp Vault

* Jira

* Knowledge of SDLC and change control, and associated procedures

* Common source code control tools and repositories

* Leadership/design of application and/or infrastructure migration projects from on-prem to cloud

* Proven expert in partnering and leading technology resources in solving complex business needs

* Cloud architecture design and implementation to solve key business needs and meet team goals

* Experience with Azure Machine Learning required

* Experience with Databricks and Azure Data Factory highly desired

* Experience with Terraform

* Experience with GitHub Actions

* Deep knowledge of Azure Networking including private endpoints, private DNS zones, peerings, NSG rules, route tables, and VNETs.

* Experience with Azure Function Apps

* Knowledge of IaaS in Azure

* Understanding of Azure Active Directory including RBAC, service principals, managed identities

* Expertise in a scripting language, either PowerShell or Bash.
