Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Principal UI/UX Designer with a strong background in healthcare technology to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in designing user-centric digital products that enhance patient care and healthcare outcomes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, accessible, and efficient user interfaces that meet the needs of healthcare professionals and patients.
Responsibilities:
User Research & Analysis:
Conduct in-depth user research to understand the unique needs and challenges of healthcare professionals and patients.
Develop comprehensive user personas, journey maps, and experience maps tailored to healthcare environments.
Leverage data analytics and user feedback to drive design decisions.
Wireframing & Prototyping:
Design detailed wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that clearly communicate functionality and user flow.
Ensure designs align with the complex requirements of healthcare applications and provide a seamless user experience.
UI Design:
Create modern, clean, and responsive user interfaces that adhere to industry best practices and healthcare regulatory standards.
Prioritize accessibility, ensuring inclusivity for all users, including those with disabilities.
Collaboration:
Work closely with product managers, developers, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders to translate requirements into innovative design solutions.
Facilitate workshops and design sprints to co-create solutions that align with clinical workflows and patient needs.
Usability Testing:
Plan, conduct, and analyze usability testing sessions with healthcare professionals and patients.
Iterate on designs based on feedback to continuously improve the user experience.
Compliance & Standards:
Ensure all designs comply with healthcare industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and best practices for privacy, data security, and accessibility.
Stay current with evolving standards and apply them to maintain compliance.
Design Systems:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive design system that ensures consistency across all healthcare products and aligns with the companys brand guidelines.
Advocate for design system adoption across teams to drive efficiency and consistency.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay informed about the latest trends in healthcare technology, UI/UX design, and user research methodologies.
Experiment with new tools, technologies, and techniques to enhance the user experience and drive innovation.

Required Skills & Experience

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
3+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, with a focus on healthcare technology or other highly regulated industries.
A strong portfolio showcasing your work on healthcare or similarly complex digital products is required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and other industry-standard software.
Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, accessibility needs, patient-centered design, and UX principles.
Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools like FigJam, InVision, Axure, or Marvel.
Knowledge of HTML/CSS; experience with front-end frameworks and design-to-development handoff is a plus.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
Metrics & Analytics:
Ability to track and analyze adoption metrics through surveys, user analytics, and other data-driven approaches.
