Job Description
In this role, the Network Engineer will work directly with clients to assess their existing infrastructure and design tailored networking solutions that meet business needs. The day-to-day involves performing network assessments, including discovery and analysis, then providing remediation plans and implementing solutions. This includes configuring and deploying switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless networks across both on-premises and hybrid cloud environments (Azure/AWS). The engineer will be hands-on with network design, virtualization, and cloud integration, ensuring systems are secure and aligned with industry best practices. They will also be expected to analyze network and security architectures, harden devices, and design/implement SAN-specific storage networking when needed. While primarily focused on networking, the role may include some exposure to server, storage, and Windows server management tasks. Ongoing responsibilities also include staying current with new certifications, keeping technical skills up to date, and guiding clients through complex networking and security challenges in a consultative manner. Pay will range from $75 - $85, depending on experience.

Required Skills & Experience
• 4+ years of networking experience as a primary responsibility
• Ability to assess, design, implement, and secure complex network technology
• Strong expertise in:
○ Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Wireless LAN (WLAN)
○ Cloud virtual networking (Azure, AWS, Hybrid cloud, On-prem)
○ Advanced routing
○ Network infrastructure design (WAN, LAN, Virtual Networks)
○ Configuring and implementing switches, routers, load balancers, and firewalls
○ Designing and configuring wireless networks
• Network assessments: discovery, analysis, recommendations, remediation (WAN, LAN, WLAN, hybrid networks)
• Experience analyzing network topologies, security architectures, tools, and IT policies to find gaps vs. best practices
• SAN-specific storage network design and implementation (FCoE, iSCSI, FC, Storage Spaces, vSAN)
• Understanding of virtualized networking (VMware vSphere, NSX, Microsoft Hyper-V virtual switching)
• Cloud integration experience
○ Familiarity with primary vendor solutions:
○ Firewalls: Cisco, Meraki, SonicWall, Barracuda (others a plus)
○ Switching: Cisco, HPE, Brocade
○ Routing: Cisco, HPE
○ WLAN: Cisco, Meraki, Ruckus, HPE
○ Load Balancers: KEMP, Barracuda
CISCO / Scada Exp

• Server management and basic Windows Server admin skills, including:
○ Active Directory (AD)
○ Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
○ DHCP, DNS
○ File, Print services
○ Radius
○ IIS
• Security-focused certifications (Cisco, Microsoft, Security+, VMware, etc.)
• Prior consulting/client-facing experience
• Certifications: Microsoft, Cisco, Security, Vmware
• Lead Exp - Need someone to come in with industry experience and mentor/implement best practices to the team
• Barracuda Firewalls
• Automation Skills
CICD, PowerShell scripting, Terraform, AZURE Devops, etc…
