Job Description

Our client is looking for a self-motivated, highly experienced Linux System Engineer to join their team to help create and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux in their environment. This person will be joining a team of 6 other DBAs and System Admins and Engineers to build and operate all internal systems in their networking data centers supporting 25 international customers. The LSE is responsible for tasks such as setting up servers, securing data, retrieving data, automation like the system set up, creating users on 20+ systems, replication, time optimization, testing, system patching, upgrading, etc.

Required Skills & Experience

*Senior Linux System Engineer*
Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of Linux systems: RHEL and Ubuntu, including kernel internals, file systems, and networking.
Virtualization expertise: Proficiency in technologies like KVM, VMware, or Xen.
Configuration management: Experience with tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
Cloud platforms: Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their virtualization offerings.
Security: Understanding of security best practices for Linux systems.
Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.

*Junior Linux System Engineer*
Requirements:
Fundamental understanding of Linux systems: RHEL and Ubuntu.
Basic scripting skills: Familiarity with Bash or Python.
Virtualization knowledge: Exposure to virtualization concepts and technologies.
Willingness to learn: Eagerness to acquire new skills and knowledge.
Problem-solving: Ability to approach tasks systematically and troubleshoot issues.

Common Requirements for Both Roles:
Kickstart and Red Hat Satellite Server: Proficiency in using these tools for system installation and management.
System updates and upgrades: Experience with patching and updating Linux systems.
Linux support: Ability to assist software developers with Linux-related questions.
System tuning: Knowledge of performance optimization techniques.
Networking basics: Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing).
Teamwork: Strong communication and collaboration skills.
