Job Description
A client of Insight Global is looking for an ETL Developer with Java skills to join their data engineering organization. This team is preparing their infrastructure on databricks and Java virtual machines for an upcoming migration effort from an existing proprietary big data platform. This position performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. This is an exciting opportunity to learn cutting edge, and dynamic technology built to make “Big Data” management easier and simpler. This role will include extracting, loading, cleansing, translating, manipulating, analyzing, linking and indexing massive amounts of data utilizing cutting edge technology and techniques. This position will have the opportunity to work alongside talented colleagues with a variety of skills and business/industry content knowledge and will collaborate closely with internal business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver a product experience that aims to exceed customer expectations. The pay rate for this role ranges from $50-60/hour based on years of experience. The role will be 3X/week hybrid on site in Alpharetta for ramp up, with flexibility to 1X/week following ramp up.

Required Skills & Experience
• 8+ years of development experience – Data & SQL
• Proficiency with data manipulation languages – SSIS, Informatica
• Software Engineering experience with Java
• Hands on experience on Cloud Technologies – Azure
• Databricks
• PowerBI visualization experience
• Ability to work with complex data models.
• Big data/large data processing – ETL processing
• Data cleansing and data operations
• Proficiency in Unix & Linux servers
• Proficient with bash/shell scripting for automation
• Familiarity of industry best practices — code coverage.
• Experience working in software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
• Experience working with Git – GitLab/GitHub.
• Knowledge of test-driven development.
