Job Description

Overview
The Director of Fleet Operations leads Lazer Logistics’ centralized maintenance function for a large Class 8 regional fleet. This role focuses on developing people, strengthening processes, improving fleet uptime, and driving cost control through analytics, compliance, and vendor performance—not hands on technical work. Ideal for a process driven leader who excels at coaching salaried teams and scaling operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the Centralized Maintenance Operations (CMO) team; manage and develop 3–4+ salaried direct reports.
• Train, coach, and reinforce maintenance processes; oversee daily operations, PM compliance, and warranty alignment.
• Manage large fleet operations (400–1,000+ assets; larger preferred).
• Review and negotiate vendor pricing, repair estimates, and service levels.
• Oversee warranty identification and recovery; partner with OEMs and vendors to resolve issues.
• Use FMS data and Power BI to analyze costs, downtime, KPIs, and performance trends.
• Build and scale fleet reporting, metrics, dashboards, and operational standards.
• Leverage telematics (e.g., Geotab) to drive PM compliance and reduce unplanned maintenance.
• Partner cross functionally with Operations, Finance, Safety, and Technology to support business objectives.
• Ensure strong customer service, safety, and continuous improvement across all fleet activities.
