Big Data Java Developer

A Risk Solutions company is looking for 2 Java Developers to join their external linking team to support a modernization effort. The company is re-writing their legacy linking tools into Java, running it in AKS, using CosmoDB for storage, and deploying into Azure. The ideal resource will have 5 years of core Java development experience in an Azure cloud environment with a strong understanding of data manipulation and how large data sets are processed. It is critical that this candidate has excellent communication skills because they will be presenting on stand ups and interacting with high level internal stakeholders. It would be necessary to have an understanding/background in data science, statistical/algorithm analysis, and/or machine learning concepts.

* 5+ years' of core Java development experience

* Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum).

* Strong proficiency with data manipulation language (SQL) including optimization techniques.

o Understanding of clustering and linking of data

* Strong understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles.

* Strong knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems

o NoSQL DB experience with CosmoDB

* Experience with agile/scrum methodologies

* Experience with Kubernetes AKS clusters

* Azure Cloud experience

o Databricks, ADF, etc.

* Understanding of how large data sets are processed

* Ability to interface competently with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements

* Experience with data science, ML, NLP

o Describe difference between precision and recall

* Azure certifications

* Data Science/ML certifications

* Python
