Job Description

Our client is expanding their local presence and growing their solid waste team across South Florida. Guided by core principles of trust, care, and growth, they are seeking a Senior Engineer / Project Directorto join their West Palm Beach office. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to mentor staff, support leadership, and lead strategic projects that advance client goals.

Role Overview:

In this leadership role, youll:
Serve as the Engineer of Record and oversee design and permitting teams
Engage directly with clients and develop technical skills of junior staff
Deliver engineering design solutions, manage projects, and coordinate teams

Project Focus:

Solid waste management, including:
Landfill gas systems
Landfills and landfill infrastructure
Composting and transfer stations
Permitting, construction, and operations support

Make an Impact by Supporting Our Clients Strategic Goals:

Apply deep engineering knowledge across solid waste, landfill operations, wastewater, and stormwater systems
Oversee technical documents including construction plans and specifications
Guide teams through complex design and regulatory challenges
Review work products to ensure quality before client delivery
Coordinate with GIS and CAD teams or produce designs in AutoCAD/ArcGIS
Drive business development efforts through proposals, client meetings, and industry events
Represent our client at trade shows and conferences
Achieve revenue, profit, and client satisfaction targets

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related engineering degree
P.E. registration required (preferably Florida) or ability to obtain reciprocity in Florida within 6 months.
A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience specific to the solid waste industry such as landfill gas management, air compliance, landfill design and permitting, landfill operations support, or compost facility operations is required.
Experience managing project financials and leading a team (7 people)
