Job Description

Develop technical specs and preliminary designs based on customer RFQs.
Create design layouts, proposal drawings, and models.
Guide technical proposal preparation and review designer outputs.
Perform engineering calculations (stress, strain, fluid, thermal).
Conduct basic FEA and CFD analyses.
Execute preliminary analytical/experimental tasks to validate concepts.
Address design deficiencies and production issues.
Complete documentation for procurement, fabrication, and testing.
Collaborate with Designers or perform design tasks directly.
Generate test and assembly procedures and reports.
Request prototype fabrication, special materials, fixtures, and tooling.
Track project progress and collaborate cross-functionally.
Review non-conformance reports and support MRB processes.
Deliver training to internal teams and customers.
Serve as technical lead and mentor for engineering teams.
Drive continuous improvement and capability development.
Champion engineering tools and methodologies.

Required Skills & Experience

Education: Bachelors in mechanical engineering (required); Masters in Mechanical, Systems, or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
Experience: 12+ years in mechanical component or valve design.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and project leadership.
Change management during design phases.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Familiar with MathCAD or equivalent.
SolidWorks (3D modeling) preferred.
LabView experience a plus.
Knowledge of ASME standards (B16.5, B16.34, Y14.5).
FEA and analytical stress analysis.
Seal design and fluid mechanics (flow calculations, basic CFD).
Structural mechanics (fastening, torque).
Mechanical design elements (materials, finishes).
Heat transfer and tolerance analysis.
Technical writing (procedures, reports).
Material compatibility and contamination control.
Valve design and qualification testing experience.
Familiarity with solenoid actuators.
Ability to work in ambiguous environments.
Strong mentoring capabilities.
Recognized technical specialist and team consultant.
