Position Summary
The Project Engineer supports field activities and works closely with the Project Manager to provide project administration support for multiple small projects or one medium-to-large project. This role assists with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and project closeout activities. Key Responsibilities
Generate and obtain approvals for monthly billings and earned value reporting.
Develop and manage project schedules for small and mid-sized projects.
Analyze project targets, goals, job cost summaries, and related reports.
Communicate potential project impacts related to resources, staffing, and crew composition to project leadership.
Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
Support change order development and estimating activities.
Coordinate job transition activities with pre-construction and project teams.
Prepare material quantity takeoffs and procurement documentation.
Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with project requirements.
Review project invoices and support coding and approval processes.
Prepare and maintain technical project documentation, including RFIs, inspection records, work packages, and constructability reports.
Coordinate the development of as-built documentation and project records.
Support punch list completion, work package closeout, and project turnover activities.
Assist with contract administration, change management, and claims documentation.
Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives and LEAN/SQP activities.
Monitor subcontractor compliance with contract requirements.
Review compliance reporting related to prevailing wage, workforce utilization, and participation requirements.
Support safety and risk management processes, including incident reporting and case management.
Follow company recruitment and hiring guidelines.
Support onboarding, E-Verify processing (if certified), and training coordination activities as needed.

Required Skills & Experience
1-5 years of project management/project coordinating experience in any industry (NOT IT)
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and government regulations.
Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
