Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an Estimator to join their clients team. This person will be working on projects assigned to them daily. They will be a takeoff by going through a set of plans and making a list of all materials that they would need to quote for their projects. Then they will price them out by going into their software tool to create a proposal of what the cost will look like so they can put a sell price together.
The Estimator will prepare accurate mechanical equipment cost estimates for HVAC construction projects. This position is responsible for the estimating and bid process, from review of plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, pricing and creating scope of work.
Position Responsibilities:
o Interpret mechanical plans and specifications to develop equipment cost estimates.
o Utilize estimating programs, pricing tools, and vendor quotes to quantify materials and equipment to prepare detailed and accurate bids.
o Research mechanical systems and equipment using variety of resources.
o Maintain accuracy and meet deadlines
o Perform additional duties as assigned.
o Report directly to the Estimating Manager.

Required Skills & Experience
• 1-3 years of Commercial HVAC industry experience
• Ideal candidate has mechanical construction knowledge to interpret mechanical plans and specifications and perform equipment takeoffs and ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook)
• Basic ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word
• Willingness to travel occasionally for training; travel expenses are covered by the company.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff or OST
- Someone who has worked with some of their direct partners (example: Greenheck, Price Industries, Etc)
- Someone who has worked with Johnson Controls, Train, Carrier, Titus, Kruger, on the manufacture’s rep side
