Job Description
The Chief Engineer will lead and manage a team of seven Engineers and an Assistant Chief, overseeing the day-to-day operations of a Class A commercial office facility and its critical infrastructure. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on expertise across commercial plant operations, including chillers, cooling towers, boiler rooms, ATS, and UPS systems, with the ability to move seamlessly from technical work in the field to executive-facing environments. The position is heavily focused on administration and leadership (approximately 80%), including vendor management, capital project support, work order execution, and process improvement, while remaining technically engaged. This is an hourly, 8–4 role with responsibility for Citi’s second-largest U.S. office facility, requiring flexibility for overtime and weekend support as needed.

Required Skills & Experience
Previous management experience within a commercial environment (preferably Class A commercial office) – tracking work orders, planning and documenting regimented maintenance activities
5+ years of engineering experience working hands on with Chillers, Cooling Towers, HVAC, RTUs, AHUs, Boiler Rooms, Generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Uninterruptable Power systems (UPS)
Experience with BMS/BAS, CMMS, and energy systems
Proficient in operating Microsoft Suite and other administrative functions on the computer
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Financial and budgeting experience tied to plant operations or capital projects
EPA 608 certification
