Job Description

We are seeking a proactive, resourceful Linux Administrator who thrives in a problem-solving environment. This individual will support both infrastructure and proprietary application environments and should be comfortable navigating regulated, compliance-heavy ecosystems. The ideal candidate brings not only technical depth in Linux but also a curious mindset, a strong sense of ownership, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
· Linux System Administration:
o Deep hands-on experience in Linux (RedHat/CentOS preferred), with strong troubleshooting skills.
o Ability to interpret logs, read error codes, and identify root causes beyond surface-level symptoms.

· Application & Infrastructure Support:
o Provide support for both infrastructure services and proprietary applications.
o Navigate undocumented or partially documented systems with confidence and initiative.

· Problem Identification and Analysis:
o Proactively identify patterns or emerging issues before they escalate.
o Not just react to problems, but help define the problem clearly, and take steps toward long-term resolution.

· Cloud Awareness:
o General understanding of cloud computing concepts like scalability, availability, and security.
o Azure knowledge is preferred but not required.

· Networking and System Performance:
o Familiarity with network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, load balancers, firewalls) and how they impact Linux-based systems.
o Ability to use appropriate Linux-native utilities (not GUI-based tools) for system checks and performance tuning.

· Scripting and Automation:
o Experience using shell scripting, PowerShell, or Python for task automation and process improvement.

· Database and API Support:
o Understanding of database concepts and experience running and interpreting SQL queries.
o Comfortable working with RESTful APIs and troubleshooting integration issues using logs and API documentation.

· Collaboration and Communication:
o Able to work effectively with application teams, developers, and business stakeholders.
o Must be sociable, team-oriented, and willing to share knowledge in a collaborative setting.

· Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
o Strong ability to document known issues, troubleshooting steps, and solutions for broader team use.
o Willingness to contribute to the team's knowledge base and continuous improvement efforts.

· Regulatory Awareness:
o Understand the importance of working within strict governance and compliance frameworks.
o Ensure that actions and troubleshooting align with defined policies and audit requirements.

· Growth Mindset:
o Eagerness to grow within the role and take on new challenges.
o Desire to learn new tools and practices relevant to Linux, infrastructure, and application support.
