Job Description
We are seeking an SQL Database Architect to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, scalable, and high-performance database architectures for Leon County’s enterprise systems. This role involves planning and directing database modernization efforts, managing upgrades, and ensuring data security, compliance, and governance across platforms. The position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support automation, performance tuning, and integration of databases, while documenting architecture standards and operational procedures. Candidates must possess a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and be able to pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check. Hourly pay ranges from $65–$75/hr based on experience.

Required Skills & Experience
- programming knowledge in one of the following languages (Java, JavaScript, C#, or R)
- 5+ years of experience with SQL sever
- strong knowledge of RDMS
- familiarity with ETL tools
