Job Description

One of Insight Global's client in Higher Education is searching for an Accountant to join their team Full-Time on a Hybrid basis in St. Petersburg, FL. This individual will be responsible for providing accounting, auditing and financial internal controls relating to the Palladium department's budget, grants, credit card reconciliation, event settlements and other programs and their respective funding sources.



Additional responsibilities are included but not limited to:

- Performing financial analysis reporting and fiscal year opening & closing activities.

- Working closely with internal teams to establish budget and additional business operations.

- Responsible for record keeping related to webtime payroll reporting, invoice payments, PCard reconciliation, E-Reqs for purchase orders, and journal entries.

- Reconcile activities in QuickBooks to PeopleSoft Finance.

- Provide historical analysis on repeat events & clients upon request.

- Preparation of ledger entries to maintain location activity, grant, or program activity accounts.

- Maintaining of event contract data files, including final settlements and additional relevant documentation.

- Assist in grant writing and the management of Palladium grants.

- Preparation and data compilation for year-end data and support from QuickBooks for IRS 990T Unrelated Business Income Tax Return.

- Performance of other duties of a similar nature or level.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or in a related field.

At least 3 years of experience in Accounting and/or Auditing.

Proficient experience and understanding of QuickBooks as it relates to Accounting functions.

Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), of applicable Federal & State rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, account reconciliation methods, and financial recordkeeping techniques.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Teams) and ERP/ financial software systems and applications.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CMA

Recently QuickBooks Certified

Professional experience in Fund Accounting.
