A client of Insight Globals is looking for an experienced Sr. Security Systems Engineer to assess compliance in support of a new government initiative. This individual will be working alongside their current team in Pensacola, FL.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and implement a security awareness program to educate personnel on security protocols.
- Ensure compliance of contractors with the established security guidelines and directives specified by relevant authorities and government policies.
- Support identified operational security initiatives as directed by government entities.
- Adhere to all Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements while collaborating with the designated Information System Security Officer (ISSO).
- Provide comprehensive Assessment & Authorization (A&A) support and offer technical security guidance throughout the system accreditation process and RMF activities.
- Work alongside system integrators and administrators to strengthen information systems to meet the required security standards.
- Perform security reviews of information security plans related to computers, networks, and information systems.
- Assess security system needs and develop corrective measures to establish a coherent security strategy.
- Document identified risks associated with projects, outlining mitigations and outcomes.
- Stay informed of system requirements and current challenges to proactively identify areas for enhancement and improvement.
Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as an Information Security Engineer or similar roles.
- IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., CISSP, Sec+).
- Familiarity with application security tools such as Checkmarx, Burpsuite, and Nexxus IQ.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk), AWS Security Hub, and AWS Detective.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Cloud experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Understanding of Cybersecurity policies and frameworks
- Experience working in Agile frameworks.
