Job Description

A client of Insight Global is looking for a Cyber Embedded Engineer. This candidate will be resposible for:
- Design, develop, and implement secure embedded systems for defense applications.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cybersecurity measures throughout the system development lifecycle.
-Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using tools like Kali Linux to identify weaknesses in embedded systems.
-Analyze network traffic and protocols using Wireshark to ensure secure communication within systems.
-Implement security controls in compliance with NIST SP 800-53 and participate in the Risk Management -Framework (RMF) process, including categorization, control selection, implementation, assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring.
-Maintain a deep understanding of Zigbee (IEEE 802.15.4) and Bluetooth -Low Energy (BLE) protocols to ensure secure communications in low-power IoT devices.
-Utilize your knowledge of mobile information management (MIM) sensors to secure and manage data effectively across mobile and embedded platforms.
-Communicate security risks and technical information effectively through various channels, ensuring clear understanding among technical and non-technical stakeholders.
-Provide regular updates and training sessions to enhance team awareness and response to cybersecurity threats.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science
Strong experience with embedded systems design, firmware development, and secure coding practices.
NIST SP 800-53 security controls and the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
network protocol analysis and troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with penetration testing and ethical hacking using Kali Linux
Zigbee and BLE

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Proficiency in network protocol analysis and troubleshooting, including experience with Wireshark and network security tools.
