Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (if no degree 8+ years of experience + Certifications)
5+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, including enterprise-level design and support.
Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise LAN architectures, especially in complex environments.
Strong ability to align network design with business and operational requirements, particularly in health sciences or similar domains.
Hands-on experience with evaluating and deploying network hardware and software to improve performance and reliability.
Expertise in optimizing networks for high-speed, reliable data access and transfers.
Solid understanding of network performance tuning, fault tolerance, and redundancy.
Willingness to work on-site five days a week and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies
Experience working in healthcare, research, or academic environments.
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and secure data handling practices.
Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.
Exposure to cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) or software-defined networking (SDN).
Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
Experience in the following: Microsoft Teams / Outlook (Communication) Lucid charts (diagrams), Service Now (Ticketing), Secure CRT (Command Line), Efficient IP IPAM ( segmentation documentation), PRTG (Monitoring) Scrutinizer (Netflow).
