Job Description

A client of Insight Global is looking for a Solar/Renewable Energy Procurement Manager to own the full procurement strategy for their utility‑scale solar and renewable‑energy projects. This position will oversee sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts for major equipment, materials, and services—ensuring competitive costs, high quality, and on‑time delivery. The ideal candidate will bring strong procurement expertise paired with experience in renewable‑energy supply chains and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities

Create and lead procurement strategies for solar panels, inverters, batteries, racking systems, and other renewable‑energy components.
Build, assess, and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, pricing, and reliability.
Negotiate major contracts with EPC partners, manufacturers, and service providers.
Track global supply‑chain trends, risks, and tariffs that may affect renewable‑energy purchasing.
Work closely with engineering, project management, and finance to align procurement with project schedules and budgets.
Ensure all procurement practices meet sustainability goals, ESG standards, and federal/state/local regulations.
Improve procurement processes, cost modeling, supplier performance, and overall efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field; a Master’s is preferred.
7+ years of procurement experience, including 3–5 years in renewable energy, utilities, or construction.
Strong understanding of solar PV systems, energy‑storage technologies, and renewable‑energy components.
Proven experience negotiating multimillion‑dollar contracts and managing suppliers.
Certifications like CPSM or PMP are a plus.
Strong analytical, financial, and communication skills.
Ability to succeed in a fast‑moving, growth‑oriented environment.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Compensation:

$150,000 to $160,000.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
