A leading supply chain company is seeking a senior Data Engineer/SQL Developer to join their team for a critical, time-sensitive project. This role involves contributing to a significant modernization effort, with the goal of completing the final 5% of the work. The company, currently relies on an Access database to support several major automotive clients. The objective is to refactor this existing solution into SQL by the end of Q1, as the current database is scheduled for decommissioning. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing existing VBA scripts and converting them into SQL. This task requires expert-level SQL skills to effectively drive the reverse engineering process. We are looking for a proactive individual who is ready to dive in and help this client achieve this important milestone.

8-10+ years of Data Engineering or SQL development experience: Extensive experience in data engineering or SQL development, demonstrating a deep understanding of database management and optimization.
Expert-level SQL skills: Proficiency in creating views, writing stored procedures, and performing complex SQL queries.
Modernization project experience: Proven ability to work on projects involving the migration from one database system to another, including reverse engineering existing solutions.
Strong communication skills: Ability to effectively collaborate with both IT teams and business stakeholders.
Experience with Access Database/VBA: Familiarity with Microsoft Access databases and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) scripting.
Industry experience: Background in the supply chain or automotive industry.
