A client of Insight Global is expanding their embedded systems team and is seeking a C++ Engineer with deep experience in embedded communication systems. This role is ideal for someone who has built networking capabilities from the ground up on devices such as SATCOMs, tactical radios, or other RF-based platforms.
This is a hands-on engineering role with architectural responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in C++ development, experience with embedded Linux, and a proven track record of designing and implementing custom networking protocols and configurations on embedded devices.
In this role, you will:
Design and implement embedded software in C++ for communication devices.
Architect and build networking stacks and protocols from scratch on embedded platforms.
Configure and optimize communication over RF, SATCOM, or tactical radio systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and long-term architecture.
Troubleshoot and optimize real-time communication systems.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical strategy.

Strong C++ programming experience in embedded environments.
Experience building networking protocols and configurations from the ground up.
Familiarity with embedded Linux and low-level networking (routing, VPNs, multicast, etc.).
Hands-on experience with communication devices such as SATCOMs, tactical radios, or RF systems.
Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.
Experience with DDS (Data Distribution Service) or other pub/sub communication models.
Background in defense, aerospace, or unmanned systems.
Familiarity with cloud-integrated networking models.
