Job Description

The Acquisition Specialist is responsible for securing property rights necessary for the construction, operation, and maintenance of utility infrastructure. This role manages the full easement and right‑of‑way acquisition process, including property research, landowner negotiations, document preparation, and coordination with internal departments and external stakeholders. The position ensures acquisitions are completed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company standards while maintaining positive landowner relationships.

Key responsibilities:
- Identify, research, and acquire easements, licenses, permits, and rights‑of‑way for utility projects.
- Conduct title research and review property ownership, encumbrances, and legal descriptions.
- Negotiate easement terms, compensation, and access agreements with private landowners, businesses, and public agencies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for landowners throughout the acquisition process.
- Address landowner concerns and resolve issues related to access, damages, restoration, and compensation.
- Coordinate with legal counsel, surveyors, appraisers, engineers, and construction teams.

Required Skills & Experience

- 2+ years of experience in easement acquisition
- Experience working with city and county government
- Proficiency in MS Office

- Utility industry experience
