Job Description
This role supports a Grants Management Department and requires a motivated candidate who can quickly learn and take ownership of grant‑related tasks. The position involves working within a fast‑paced environment with natural peaks and valleys in workload. The candidate will support a wide range of budgets—from faculty mini‑grants to multi‑year, multi‑million‑dollar awards. They will work independently with scheduled check‑ins during the first 30 days and collaborate closely with the host facility’s grant managers. Responsibilities include coordinating with team members for collaborative purposes, processing student worker appointments, preparing purchase orders, applying correct funding sources, reviewing and advising on proposal budgets, and monitoring active projects. The role also involves ensuring accuracy across financial documents, handling tasks with staff, and providing support to faculty throughout the proposal and award lifecycle in the pre and post award phase.

Required Skills & Experience
• Graduated from a university program in Research Administration (certificate or master’s), or has 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in grant management, specifically with Federal, State, or Local Government funding sources
• Compliance experience withing budget development and fiscal monitoring
• Understanding and adjusting formulas within excel
• Ensuring calculations are accurate.
• Applying different benefit rates based on project needs.
• Updating and customizing existing budget templates.
• Ability to perform checks and balances—including working with faculty or assigned team members on budget accuracy and project alignment.
• Detail Oriented and ability to multi-task or pivot throughout their day as needed
