Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control (P&C) Engineer to join our team, specializing in the design of high-voltage (4kV–230kV) and extra-high-voltage (above 230kV) substations for utility systems and renewable energy interconnection projects. This role involves producing one-line and three-line diagrams, protection and control specifications, I/O mapping, and various schematics including control, alarm, communications, and wiring diagrams, all in compliance with IEEE, NESC, NEC, and other applicable standards. The engineer will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across disciplines such as transmission, distribution, and telecom to ensure project milestones are met, while also supporting procurement, construction, and technical documentation. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical specialist in system protection and communication, mentor junior engineers, lead QA/QC efforts, and contribute to client technical reviews and strategic team optimization. A strong understanding of protection scheme functionality and the ability to work seamlessly with P&C designers is essential. $1000,000-$140,000 salary.

Required Skills & Experience
-Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized accredited program
-Minimum of 6 years related work experience in the field of high voltage substation design – P&C
-Proficient in use of AutoCAD or Bentley Microstation.
-Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code
-Good knowledge of the industry and technology trends specific to substations.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Holds an active PE license
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
