Mainframe Engineer III

· This position will act as a back-up to the application manager
· The mainframe engineer will participate in the technical design, development, and implementation of application systems
· This role is responsible for developing innovative business solutions by creating new applications, modifying existing ones, and providing post-production support
· The engineer ensures that all development aligns with established specifications and business requirements to deliver value to the organization

· Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
· 5-7+ years of experience in mainframe application development
· Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and other mainframe technologies
· Familiarity with version control systems and GIT, CI/CD pipelines
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Agile experience

Background in equities and fixed income products.
Understanding of financial applications and reconciliation processes

Familiarity with message queuing systems, especially IBM MQ, used for distributed communication.

Some experience or understanding of distributed computing environments, even if the core role is mainframe-focused.
