Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Surgical Scheduler for a healthcare system in Jupiter, FL. This person will play a critical role in ensuring smooth surgical operations by coordinating patient appointments and surgical procedures. This position involves scheduling surgeries, obtaining prior authorizations, verifying insurance coverage, and communicating with patients regarding pre-operative instructions. The scheduler works closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to confirm availability of operating rooms and necessary resources. Responsibilities include managing patient records in EMR systems, tracking referrals, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential, as the role requires juggling multiple tasks, handling schedule changes, and maintaining clear communication with both patients and the surgical team.

Required Skills & Experience

• Healthcare scheduling experience (minimum 1 year), preferably in a surgical or specialty clinic setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with surgical procedures.
• Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
• Proficiency in EMR systems and scheduling software.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and coordination with clinical staff.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Epic EMR experience.
• Previous experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery center.
• Familiarity with pre-operative requirements and surgical prep processes.
• Exposure to billing or revenue cycle tasks.
• Ability to handle high-volume scheduling and manage cancellations/reschedules efficiently.
