Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Engineering Specialist to join their team for a large undergrounding project. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for quality assurance and quality control of engineering design packages delivered by turnkey vendors for underground distribution projects. Your day-to-day activities include reviewing civil and electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, trench layouts, conduit configurations, and equipment placement to ensure compliance with utility standards, NESC, NEC, and local codes. You will verify that designs meet project scope, reliability objectives, and constructability requirements, flag discrepancies, and coordinate corrections with vendors. Additional responsibilities include checking material lists and bills of materials for accuracy, validating GIS and asset data alignment, and ensuring that all documentation supports permitting and construction needs. You will maintain QA/QC checklists, track design review metrics, and provide feedback to improve vendor performance and standardization. Throughout the process, you’ll collaborate with internal engineering teams and project managers to resolve design issues quickly, uphold safety and compliance standards, and support timely project execution.
$30-$55/HR

Required Skills & Experience
-2-3 years of experience reviewing engineer designs for undergrounding or hardening power distribution projects
-Experience using Design Manager/Electric Office
-Strong written/verbal communication skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Bachelor's Degree (preferably in an engineering disapline)
