Job Description
We are partnering with a large enterprise organization on a high-impact initiative aimed at evolving a complex internal platform into a scalable, multi-service system that coordinates tools, automation, and human decision-making. This effort is focused on ensuring the system remains understandable, safe, and trustworthy as it scales.
This role is ideal for a UX Researcher who thrives in ambiguous, high-stakes environments and is excited by the challenge of defining how humans and automated systems interact across complex workflows.
Day-to-Day:
• Lead discovery efforts through interviews and artifact review
• Map current-state workflows and identify key decision points
• Surface risks related to trust, safety, and system interpretation
• Develop insights and translate them into future-state experience recommendations
• Support workshops and working sessions to validate assumptions and stress-test concepts
• Partner closely with design, product, and technical teams to align on findings
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct targeted stakeholder interviews across user groups to understand current workflows, pain points, and decision-making behaviors
• Identify breakdowns in trust, comprehension, and system clarity
• Analyze where human intervention is required vs. where automation can be safely introduced
• Translate qualitative insights into actionable frameworks, principles, and experience models
• Evaluate how workflows scale across users, tools, and scenarios, and identify risks in expansion
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape a future-state experience model outlining roles, responsibilities, and system interactions
• Define guardrails for safe interaction between users and automated systems, including escalation and override scenarios
• Synthesize findings into clear recommendations to guide product and experience decisions
Project Overview:
The platform is actively transitioning from a single-purpose tool into a broader orchestration layer that supports multiple users, services, and automation. While technical capabilities have advanced quickly, the experience design must now evolve to ensure clarity, safety, and adoption at scale.
The goal of this work is to:
• Identify risks in how users interpret and act on system outputs
• Define clear boundaries between human decision-making and automated actions
• Establish frameworks that support scalability without introducing operational risk
Pay Rate: $55/hr
