Job Description

* Facilitate and complete month-end closing procedures to include general ledger reconciliations, journal entries and have the ability to research and determine the most effective means of handling accounting transactions.

* Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash receipts, cash disbursements and general ledger functions.

* Maintain and create accounts within the accounting software for general ledger, accounts payable, and receivables.

* Works with direct reports to establish goals and objectives each year and monitor progress to enhance professional development of staff.

* Coordinate meetings with Strategic Planning and Analysis to communicate general ledger activity in relation to department budgets.

* Support the Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.

* Assist CFO and Controller with annual financial audit and tax return (Form 990) preparation

* Assist CFO and Controller with School Agreed Upon Procedures CPA Report Reviews

* Research, develop and maintain accounting policies in accordance with GAAP

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor's in Accounting

* 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience

* Strong experience with Excel including Pivot Tables and VLookups

* Experience with general ledger, preparation of general ledger and bank account reconciliations

* Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable subsystem, processes, and transaction processing operations.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Non-profit accounting experience

* CPA

* Knowledge of Epicor ERP or similar system (JD Edwards, Quickbooks)

* Tapalte -- payment system

* Public Accounting Experience
