Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking to hire an Underwriting Assistant to sit in Jacksonville, FL. This person will be partnering with the underwriting team to assist in the preparation of both new and renewal business. Daily tasks include preparing file information and documentation, preparing certificates and loss history, billing, and invoices, and building and maintaining broker and client relationships. This person will also be responsible for administrative tasks such as answering phone calls and answering questions regarding insurance premiums and payments, organizing and processing the mailing of insurance policies, and collaborating with the finance department to communicate on overdue billing invoices.

Required Skills & Experience

- Underwriting Assistant experience or Insurance Agency Account Manager Experience
- Understanding of insurance policy documents
- Competent at using MS Office suite of products
- Understanding of insurance information systems (underwriting, billing, etc.) preferred.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task
- knowledge of office equipment such as printers and fax machines
- Bachelors Degree
- 2-20 (General Commercial Lines license) or willing to obtain upon hire

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Medical Professional Malpractice Insurance Experience
Florida agent/insurance broker/producer license preferred
