This position will assist the SR CDM Analyst in developing and facilitating the processes for accurate and timely charge capture through research and analysis of the Charge Master
- Will be assigned certain service lines and owning responsibility
- Communicating directly with the departments -- Joining service line meetings -- Providing updates and education material
- Develop and maintain relevant reporting tools to ensure accurate charging
- Analyze chargemaster reports and work queues to perform analyses for root cause analysis and process improvements -- Guidance from Sr. CDM Analyst and Chargemaster Manager
- Audit supply charges for high dollar items
- Partner w/ supply chain management for charges coming into Epic from thid party vendors
- Collaborate w/ Sr CDM Analyst to investigate charge issues: missing charges, late charges, charges held up in work queues, etc.
- Maintain workflow approvals or rejections utilizing VitalCDM workflow
- Ensure applicable and appropriate updates to charge master are made quarterly in alignment w/ HCPCS and CPT coding updates
- Provide department CDM to clinical departments as requested
- Create usage reports and other reports from VitalWare and Epic
- Remain current on industry regulations and charging/billing guidelines
- Building fee schedules, working with IT to upload into EPIC -- Will learn build processes
