Pay Rate

Job Description

• Monitor quality assurance samples during asphalt production
• Review and maintain calibration sheets for lab and field equipment
• Track and report production rates across multiple plants
• Conduct basic lab testing on asphalt mixtures (rock, binders, emulsions)
• Support QC technicians with mix design evaluations
• Observe asphalt mixing processes for consistency and compliance
• Coordinate with various asphalt suppliers to ensure product integrity
• Interface with DOT representatives for regulatory compliance
• Document inspection results and testing procedures
• Communicate with clients to support ongoing projects
• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and the specified procedures.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
• Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the Project Manager.
• Draft inspection reports for review by senior inspector and/or Project Managers.
• May assist more senior inspectors on projects.

Required Skills & Experience

- FDOT CTQP Asphalt Level 2
- 1 or more years of experience doing asphalt plant inspection in a plant or field setting

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- One or more of the following certifications:
o NICET Level II in CMT/Geotechnical, ICC Certification, CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), ACI (Concrete Field Testing or Strength Testing), any NDT Level II certifications (VT, MT, PT, RT, UT)
- Bachelors in civil engineering or construction management
- Coming for a consulting background
