A client of Insight Global is looking for a Senior Director of Operations to help manage the daily operations of their site. You would be responsible for daily management of the primate facility, ensuring smooth operations, regulatory compliance, and staff coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all operational areas: animal care, veterinary techs, facilities, food, IT, and QA
- Manage the non-human primate (NHP) colony and shipment logistics
- Ensure compliance with regulations (AWA, USDA, AAALAC, etc.)
- Foster collaboration across departments
- Partner with veterinary staff to support primate health
Staff Management
- Supervise 50+ employees across multiple departments
- Provide training, enforce SOPs, and conduct evaluations
- Guide technical and animal care teams
Skills & Expertise
- NHP handling, behavior, and husbandry
- Regulatory knowledge and confidentiality practices
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
- Basic hand tool proficiency
Compliance & QA
- Maintain safety standards and operational records
- Train staff on security protocols
- Implement emergency procedures

- Bachelors degree in Biology, Animal Science, or related field
- 7+ years managing in a lab/ animal facility (3+ in leadership)
- Knowledge of animal welfare regulations and standards
- Microsoft Office & EHR system knowledge
