The Inventory Control Specialist works as an integral part of the Finance and Accounting team to ensure that finished goods, supplies, and packaging inventory stock levels are reflected accurately for reporting purposes to all business units
Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory reaches minimum threshold for business continuity.
Validate received material for: correct items, case counts, total quantities, lot validations, and paperwork.
Ensure efficient and organized storage of goods including identifying potential storage needs, optimizing space utilization with all relevant Managers
Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
Collaborate with the Procurement team to assess inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
Communicate inventory information with other business units.
Provides inventory reports to Finance & Accounting Manager for month end/ quarter end close of accounts at a minimum.
Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and/or returned.
Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the Finance & Accounting Manager.
Conducts frequent spot checks and audits of physical inventory.
Investigate discrepancies in inventory and present findings to the Finance & Accounting Manager
Develop and maintain company inventory procedures and processes complying with relevant regulations
Monitor shrinkage and recommend ways to reduce loss
Operate a forklift truck when necessary.

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in supply chain management, logistics or a related field.
3+ years of experience in related role within supply chain.
Experience with inventory management software of systems is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills and analytical skills to be able to manage volumes of information and identify potential issues.
The ability to function independently with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
Strong team player with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
Ability to identify and correct discrepancies and errors.
