Job Description

Big things:

* This role originally was going to be a staff accountant role, however the manager of maintenance accounting is retiring and only working part time so there's two major gaps he needs this person to cover:

1. Maintenance accounting help -- dealing with the fixed assets, a ton of in-housework and dealing with manufacturing clients. Also wants someone who can bring fresh insights in process.

2. GL accounting -- where the original staff accountant was.

* More interested in manufacturing folks then travel industry.



Day to Day:

Our client in the Hollywood FL area is looking for senior accounting talent to join their team. This position will report directly into the VP of Finance and will be onsite M-F. This is a new headcount that will be covering traditional staff accountant duties, as well as maintenance and cost accounting responsibilities for the company. The ideal candidate will be coming from a manufacturing background or have strong exposure to the travel industry (specifically aviation).



* Fixed asset accountant experience

o recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets, tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.

* Cost accounting experience

o performing cost analyses and preparing budget reports; assessing business expenses and overseeing expense reports, analyzing data on purchases or the incurred costs regarding goods and services received from vendors, and preparing budget plans and recommendations for cost-efficiency.

* Maintenance accounting experience

o with repair and maintenance costs, including the identification, recognition, measurement, and disclosure of expenses incurred by the company to keep its tangible assets in good operating condition. Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, and reconciliations for monthly close, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Required Skills & Experience

* CPA, bachelor's in finance or similar

* Fixed asset accountant experience

* Cost accounting experience

* Maintenance accounting experience

* Coordinate internal and external audits.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Airline, cruise, transportation, logistics, or manufacturing experience
