Job Description
Lead Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining data solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies. The candidate will work closely with Data Engineers, Data Architects, Data Analysts, Data Modelers, Report Developers, BU IT, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions that support the company’s strategic goals. Candidate must possess the technical capabilities to extract, retrieve and analyze data with SQL based tools. The engineer should possess strong interpersonal communication skills to be able to bridge the gap between business and technical users to understand and assess requirements and deliver data driven solutions. The role will also involve adhering to data governance standards and practices along with experience developing in an agile environment using Azure DevOps Boards or similar tool such as Jira.

Required Skills & Experience
This is a full-time contractor, hybrid position
Advanced SQL skills (5+ years of Data Integration and ETL tool experience)
Experience working on business-facing view development for reporting (Power BI preferred)
Ability to optimize and troubleshoot complex SQL queries
Problem-solving can-do attitude
Ability to bridge the gap between business and technical users to understand and assess requirements and deliver data driven solutions
Preferably has participated in a system implementation or data migration project before
Experience curating data for power bi consumption
Azure cloud platform knowledge preferred
Experience with Agile methodology and Azure DevOps preferred
Detail oriented, curious, and willing to contribute as a team player
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience in the automotive or captive finance industry is a plus
