Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Telematics QA Lead to join our enterprise Telematics team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of telematics software systems, including embedded vehicle components, mobile applications, and cloud-based services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, automation, and system integration within the automotive or IoT domain. This QA Lead role is a hybrid of leadership and hands-on testing, with roughly 70% of the work focused on automation and 30% on manual testing. You'll spend about 60% of your time guiding a team, coordinating efforts, and collaborating across the enterprise, while the remaining 40% involves enhancing and maturing the automation environment/ hands on test execution.
Test Planning & Execution
o Develop comprehensive Test Strategy, test plans, test cases, and test scripts for telematics software components.
o Execute manual and automated tests across embedded systems, mobile platforms, and cloud services.
• System Integration & Validation
o Validate end-to-end functionality across vehicle hardware, software, mobile apps, and backend systems.
o Execute test cases on Data Integrity testing aspects covering domain, entity and referential integrity of data
• Automation Development
o Design and implement automated test frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Appium, or Robot Framework.
o Maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and reporting.
• Defect Management
o Identify, log, and track software defects using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
o Work closely with development teams to triage and resolve issues efficiently.
• Continuous Improvement
o Analyze test results and metrics to improve test coverage and QA processes.
o Participate in retrospectives and contribute to process enhancements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
o Collaborate with developers, system engineers, product managers, and OEM partners.
o Communicate quality status, risks, and mitigation plans effectively.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of experience in software quality assurance (preferably in automotive or telematics)
Proficiency in test automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Java, etc.).
Very strong experience working with Selenium for automation
Strong experience doing API Testing, deep experience of integrations and testing considerations
Strong experience working in an Agile environment
Experience with embedded systems, mobile platforms (iOS/Android), and cloud services.
Experience with Telematics, Vehicle repair, Vehicle information, Transport and logistics industry
