Job Description

My client in Southwest Washington DC needs a temporary tax specialist to join their team due to someone needing long-term leave. Their day to day responsibilities will be joining the cyclical tax monthly cycle - 1st week all focused on journal entries, entering them into the ERP, and reconciliations. 2nd and 3rd week all focused around tax compliance, and the final week of the month centered around special projects and additional training. This role will be onsite for the first 4-6 weeks for training and then can work hybrid for remainder (~2 days/week) in office.

Required Skills & Experience

1. STRONG excel experience (vlookups, hlookups, sumIFs, macro functions, pivot tables)
2. Journal Entries experience (understanding of debits & credits, reconciliations, etc.)
3. Tax understanding (worked with things like gross receipt tax, sales tax, property tax, excise tax, or utility tax)
4. Associates Degree (Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred)
5. Working in ERP experience (they use peoplesoft, but can consider SAP or another)
6. DMV Local
7. Ability to work independently

Plusses:
1. Job stability (I WILL consider consistent contract workers with the urgency of the positions)
2. Exemption certificate management software experience – Avalara is what they use and could be listed under “Skills” in a resume
