A client of Insight Global is looking to bring on a Senior Commercial Counsel & Underwriting to join their team! This position will support complex transactions and help drive continued growth across a major Mid-Atlantic market. The ideal candidate will be a senior professional with deep technical expertise and strong industry relationships.
Key Responsibilities
· Underwrite complex commercial real estate transactions, including multi-state, high-liability, and structured deals
· Provide legal and underwriting guidance to internal teams and clients, including developers, lenders, attorneys, and investors
· Evaluate and manage risk while delivering creative, business-oriented underwriting solutions
· Draft, review, and negotiate title commitments, pro formas, endorsements, and related documents
· Partner closely with sales and operations teams to support business development efforts and client retention
· Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on title, coverage, and transactional structuring matters

Required Skills & Experience
· Significant experience in commercial title underwriting and/or commercial real estate law
· Strong knowledge of title insurance policies, endorsements, and regulatory frameworks
· Proven ability to handle complex, high-value CRE transactions independently
· Established relationships within the commercial real estate legal, lending, and developer communities
· Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills
· JD strongly preferred; active bar admission a plus (but not required depending on underwriting background)
