Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Head of Projects / Project Executive to lead a large, complex project management function supporting a multi-building institutional campus environment. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of capital, infrastructure, renovation, and MEP projects across approximately 80+ buildings.
This individual will act as a trusted advisor and owner’s representative, providing strategic oversight, stakeholder leadership, and execution governance across all projects. The role requires a thick-skinned, highly polished client-facing leader who can navigate strong personalities, competing priorities, and a highly visible stakeholder environment.
The Head of Projects will manage and grow a project management team while partnering closely with internal account leadership and end clients to guide capital planning, budgeting, and prioritization of work.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Portfolio Leadership

Provide senior oversight for a wide range of projects, including:

Full-building renovations
Infrastructure and MEP upgrades
Capital improvement projects
Deferred maintenance and modernization initiatives


Ensure all projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to stakeholder expectations
Oversee multiple concurrent projects at various stages of design and construction
Lead monthly and ad hoc project review meetings covering schedule, budget, risk, and compliance

Agency / Owner’s Representative Model

Operate primarily in an agency / owner’s rep capacity, managing:

External vendors, consultants, and contractors
Project schedules, reporting, and governance


In some cases, operate under a principal delivery model, directly engaging contractors and assuming delivery risk
Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, contractual, and quality standards across all projects

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

Serve as the senior point of contact for a highly visible, multi-stakeholder client environment
Manage relationships with end users, leadership stakeholders, site teams, and external partners
Navigate conflict resolution, competing priorities, and strong personalities with professionalism and confidence
Maintain high levels of client satisfaction through clear communication and proactive issue management

Capital Planning & Strategy

Partner with account leadership and end clients to:

Support capital improvement planning
Assist with project budgeting and long-term planning
Help prioritize projects based on funding, urgency, and strategic value


Provide guidance on how and where capital dollars should be allocated

Team Leadership & Development

Lead and develop a growing project team, including:

Senior Project Managers
Project Managers
Upcoming hires (additional PM and Assistant PM)


Drive performance management, mentoring, and professional development
Support onboarding and integration of new team members

Governance, Reporting & Risk Management

Ensure consistent project controls, reporting, and governance processes
Identify and mitigate project risks (schedule, technical, safety, financial, stakeholder)
Track and report on project performance metrics and forecasts
Implement and improve project delivery processes and standards

Required Skills & Experience

5–10+ years of progressive experience in:

Project management
Construction management
Capital projects within complex environments


Proven experience leading teams and managing multiple large-scale projects
Strong background working directly with end clients and senior stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and navigate politically complex environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience as a Project Executive, Senior Project Manager, or Head of Projects
Experience within:

University or large campus environments
Healthcare, institutional, or multi-building portfolios


Background from:

Owner’s representative / agency model
General contractor or construction management firms working with high-profile end clients


Certifications (PMP, CCM, LEED, etc.) are preferred but not required
