Position: Dietitian - Kidney Transplant Services

Duration: permanent - 20%
Pay Range: $61,093- 91,000k
Shift: M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, fully onsite
• No weekends, no holidays and no on-call!
• Rounds start @9 AM at the hospital
Interview Process:
• 1st round: 30 minute Teams meeting
• 2nd round: hour and a half onsite interview (meet the team and shadow)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Insight Global is seeking a Dietitian within the Kidney Transplant Services to support a BEST regional hospital in Washington, DC. The Transplant Registered Dietitian Nutritionist provides nutritional assessment and intervention to transplant candidates and recipients. Living donors may receive a nutritional assessment if requested by a transplant team member.
Responsibilities:
• Provides nutrition assessments and interventions to transplant candidates and recipients as requested.
• Provides nutrition assessments and interventions to living donor candidates as requested by physicians.
• Provides ongoing nutrition strategies for complex, high risk patients.
• Develops and review guidelines used for nutritional assessment and intervention of pre and post-transplant as well as for living donors.
• Reviews medical documentation and oversees nutrition care provided.
• Follows up with high risk patients as needed/requested.
• Demonstrates good organizational skills and be able to multi-task, prioritize, and quickly adjust to changes when needed.
• Accesses information as needed from all data sources (data base, electronic charts, outside providers, etc.).
• Attends all departments-specific training and demonstrate proficiency related to safety and job-related hazards.
• Participates in at least one transplant related performance improvement project.
• Participates in monthly QAPI meetings.
• Participates in weekly patient selection meetings.
• Effectively communicates expectations.
• Reviews or develops educational material for transplant candidates, recipients and living donors.
• Documents nutrition assessment in the patient’s medical record.

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition / Dietetics.
• Registered Dietitian / Nutritionist (RDN).
• Washington DC Dietitian License.
• 1-2 years' experience required.
○ Ideally transplant, inpatient, or dialysis center experience.

Other Information (Team & D2D:
• This team member will report directly into the Director of Transplant and collaborate closely with the other dietitian on the team.
• The dietitians on the team alternate monthly between inpatient and outpatient facilities and responsibilities.
○ Inpatient D2D: rounds @9, educating patients that are being discharged on timeline and next steps, perform liver evaluation and assessments, documentation, and assisting with TPN / tube feeds.
○ Outpatient D2D: consulting for frailty, ensure candidates are eligible for liver / kidney transplants, assist with hematology cases by educating patients.
